Jason George's practice focuses on corporate and real estate law. He represents investment funds, small businesses, franchises, other corporate entities and individuals. Prior to joining Washington Law, Mr. George was Legal Counsel and Vice President for Investments at NCH Capital, a New York based private equity fund, where he represented the fund in certain Eastern European countries. Mr. George oversaw legal procedure, negotiated and drafted agreements for all regional fund investments including the financing and purchase of SME companies, assets, equity and real estate. In addition, Mr. George drafted the internal credit, money laundering, risk and corporate governance policies for a regional finance company and exercised responsibility for the fund’s local and U.S. compliance. Mr. George has also practiced corporate law at Ashurst LLP in London and McKee Nelson LLP (now Bingham McCutchen LLP) in New York. He represented issuers and underwriters of a variety of structured finance products including asset-backed securities, collateralized loan obligations and municipal bonds. Mr. George also served as swap providers’ counsel in the issuance of various derivative products and drafted ISDA documentation. Mr. George speaks Italian, Spanish and Albanian, and is conversant in Greek. In 2001, he was a U.S. Fulbright Scholar in Albania.
